Mashiro no Oto
Mashiro no Oto (ましろのおと, lit. "Pure White Sound") is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Marimo Ragawa. It has been serialized in Kodansha's shōnen manga magazine Monthly Shōnen Magazine since December 2009 and has been collected in twenty-five tankōbon volumes.[2] An anime television series adaptation by Shin-Ei Animation is scheduled to premiere in April 2021.

Manga
Mashiro no Oto is written and illustrated by Marimo Ragawa. The series began in the 2010 1st issue of Kodansha's Monthly Shōnen Magazine, published on December 5, 2009.[4] Kodansha has compiled its chapters into individual tankōbon volumes. The first volume was published on October 15, 2010.[5] As of May 15, 2020, twenty-five volumes have been released.[6]
Anime
An anime television series adaptation was announced in the September issue of Monthly Shōnen Magazine on August 6, 2020.[1] The series is animated by Shin-Ei Animation and directed by Hiroaki Akagi, with Yoichi Kato handling series composition, and Jiro Mashima designing the characters. The Yoshida Brothers will supervise the tsugaru-jamisen music in the anime. It will premiere in April 2021.[3]
Reception
It was nominated for the 4th Manga Taishō[7] and it was number three on the 2012 Kono Manga ga Sugoi! Top 20 Manga for Male Readers survey.[8] It also won the 36th Kodansha Manga Award for Best Shōnen Manga[9] and an Excellence Award at the 16th Japan Media Arts Festival Awards.[10] Volume 9 has sold 70,223 copies as of October 20, 2013.[11]
