Club career
International career
Thorisdottir went through all Norwegian junior teams and participated with the under-17 team in the qualifications and the finals of the 2009 UEFA Women's Under-17 Championship in Nyon, where Norway finished in fourth place.[7]
A year later, she and the Norway U17 fell in the second qualification round of the 2010 UEFA Women's Under-17 Championship. At the 2011 UEFA Women's Under-19 Championship, she and her team reached the finals, but they lost 8–1 against Germany.[8] As a result of reaching the semi-finals, Norway qualified for the 2012 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Japan. Thorisdottir was part of the roster that played at the tournament. Her team reached the quarter-finals, but then they met Germany again and lost 4–0.[9]
After that her international career came to a halt and only three years later, she was then called for two matches for the under-23 team. On 16 February 2015, she was called for the senior team for the first time,[10] and was a part of team that played at the 2015 Algarve Cup. Her first game was against Iceland.[11] She had earlier been offered to play for Iceland but turned it down in hopes of making the Norwegian team.[12][13] On 23 April 2015, she was appointed to the provisional squad of 35 players for the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup.[14] On 14 May 2015, she was called for the final squad.[15] With Norway, she participated at the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup in France.[16]
Personal life
Thorisdottir was born in Norway to a Norwegian mother and an Icelandic father, Þórir Hergeirsson,[17] the coach of the Norway women's national handball team.[18][19] Her father's extended family lives in Iceland.[20]
During her childhood, she was part of a juggling group and performed with different companies.[21]
