Biography

Marcel Rogemont, with young socialist elected officials gathered around Edmond Hervé at the time of his conquest of the town hall of Rennes in 1977. With them, he deeply marks the local political scene since the end of the 1970s. Uninterrupted official elected at the municipal council of Rennes from 1977 to 2001, he was assistant of the mayor from 1977 until his first election as deputy in 1997. He successively was in charge of the personnel, of finances then of culture. Member of the Socialist party until May 22, 2007, he was excluded from it following his dissenting candidature against Laurence Duffaud, official candidate of the PS. He was elected on June 17, 2007, for the XIIIth legislature (2007–2012), in the 3rd district of Ille-et-Vilaine by beating, at the second round, the outgoing deputy Philippe Rouault (UMP) with 52,75% of the votes [2]. He found thus the seat he had occupied at the time of the XIth legislature.
