The artist's father built the house on Pokrovskaia street in the beginning of the 20th century and Marc Chagall spent his childhood there. Inaugurated in 1992, the Museum gathers articles of family life of the boundary of the 19th-20th centuries, as well as copies of archival documents and works by Chagall relating to the artist's and his family's life in Vitebsk.
