In November 2018, she was named in the Melbourne Renegades' squad for the 2018–19 Women's Big Bash League season.[5][6] In April 2019, Cricket Australia awarded her with a contract with the National Performance Squad ahead of the 2019–20 season.[7][8]

Off the field, Brown has generated some notoriety for a skill that has been described as "bizarre", namely her ability to speak and sing with her mouth shut. Brown has said that she taught herself that skill as a child, while sitting in the car on long road trips with her family.[9]
