Mahalia (singer)
Mahalia Burkmar (born 1 May 1998), known mononymously as Mahalia,[1] is a Jamaican-British singer, songwriter and actress.[2] Mahalia has released a couple of EPs and two albums, Diary Of Me (2016) and Love and Compromise (2019). She acted in the film Brotherhood (2016).[3]

Life and career
Mahalia is from Syston, Charnwood, in Leicestershire.[4][5][6] Her father is British-Irish and her mother is Jamaican.[7] As a child she would often spend her summer breaks at home writing music—she wrote her first song at age eight and signed a deal with a major record label at age 13.[5][8]
