Madis Eek

Madis Eek (born 31 January 1966 in Tallinn) is an Estonian architect.

From 1973 to 1979 Madis Eek studied in the Secondary School of Music and from 1979 to 1984 in the 43rd Secondary School (today's Technical Gymnasium of Tallinn). From 1984 Madis Eek studied in the State Art Institute of the Estonian SSR (today's Estonian Academy of Arts) in the department of architecture and graduated from the institute in 1989.

From 1989 to 1990 Madis Eek worked in the state planning bureau Eesti Maaehitusprojekt (Estonian Rural Design). From 1990 to 1993 he worked in the V. Suonmaa architectural bureau in Finland. From 1994 he works in the Eek&Mutso Architectural Bureau.

Most notable works by Madis Eek include office building on Tartu Road, Kamikaze pub in Mustamäe, bus station and market hall in Rakvere. In addition to numerous public buildings Madis Eek has designed many apartment buildings and single-family homes – the single-family homes in Viimsi and Nõmme, the apartment buildings on Liivalaia Street, on Õie Street and on Tatari Street.

Madis Eek is a member of the Union of Estonian Architects.
