History
The band's name was derived from Mustaine's initials backwards (MD), combined with 45 which is derived from converting Ving's backwards initials (VL) to their numerical value in Roman numerals which is 45.[1]
The band released only one album, 1996's The Craving. In 2004, while Capital Records were remastering the Megadeth back catalog, Mustaine took the opportunity to also have The Craving remastered. It was soon discovered that Ving's vocal and harmonica tracks were mysteriously missing from the original master tapes. To complete the remastering, Mustaine chose to re-record the vocals himself and simulate the harmonica parts on guitar. The remastered version was subsequently released by Capital Records.[1]
