List of people with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis

This is a list of notable people who have or had amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

Astrophysicist Stephen Hawking, whose ALS was diagnosed in 1963, had ALS for 55 years, the longest recorded time. He died at the age of 76 in 2018.
Cartoonist Stephen Hillenburg, whose ALS was diagnosed in 2017, the creator of SpongeBob SquarePants. He died at the age of 57 in 2018.
