List of certified albums in South Korea

Since 2018, 54 albums have been certified in South Korea in accordance with the certification levels set up by the Korea Music Content Association (KMCA). Established in 2008, with the purpose of promoting the professional interests of its members, as well as being involved in anti-piracy, the KMCA introduced the official South Korean charts in 2010.[3] Record certifications were implemented in April 2018, to every release after January 1, 2018.[4][5]

South Korean boyband BTS have received the Million certification five times for over eleven million album sales. Their 2020 studio album Map of the Soul: 7 is the highest certified album with a Quadruple Million certification and the best-selling album in South Korea.[1] It is also the first Korean album to sell more than 4 million copies in the Gaon Chart's history.[2]
EXO (pictured in 2016) are the first artists after BTS to receive the Million certification for over 1 million album sales. They received a certification on January 11, 2019 with their sixth studio album Don't Mess Up My Tempo.
Wanna One (pictured in 2018) was among the first groups to receive a certification in May 2018 with their ep 0+1=1 (I Promise You).
Twice (pictured in 2018), have received six certifications, the most of any artist.

The first albums to be certified were Got7's Eyes on You, NCT's NCT 2018 Empathy and Wanna One's 0+1=1 (I Promise You) on May 5, 2018. As of August 2020, South Korea's highest-certified record is Map of the Soul: 7, a studio album by BTS, which was awarded a quadruple million certification in April 2020 for selling over four million units. Twice are the artists with the highest number of certified records, with six.

Twice, Blackpink and IZ*ONE are the only female artists to receive album certifications, while Twice have the most certified records of any female artists with six and were the first ones to receive a certification.
