Levaia
Levaia (Greek: Λεβαία) is a village in the region of Florina, northern Greece.[2] It belonged to the municipality of Filotas but after the application of the Kallikratis Plan it got incorporated in the municipality of Amyntaio.[3] According to the 2011 Greek census, the village had 919 inhabitants.

Names & Historical demography
The old name of the village, Ellevi (or Elevis) got renamed to Lakkia in 1925.[4] In 1988 it got renamed to Levaia, owing its name to the ancient Macedonian city Levaia.[2]
The village was a Muslim Turkish settlement before the Population exchange between Greece and Turkey, numbering 700 inhabitants in 1900 according to the Bulgarian geographer Vasil Kanchov.[5] The population exchange resulted in all the inhabitants of the village to settle in Turkey and in return, around 1.000 Pontic, Thracian and other Asia Minor Greeks settled in the village.[6]
