Leo Dottavio

Leandro Fabian Dottavio (born August 14, 1986) is an American reality television personality, Hollywood stuntman, and comedian. He performed in several American movies and TV shows, before going on to become a contestant on The Bachelorette’s 14th season in 2018.

Early life

Leo was born in Los Angeles, California to his mother Luz Dottavio, and father Julio Dottavio, along with his two sisters. Luz is Colombian and works in education. Julio Dottavio is of Argentinian and Italian descent and owns a construction business.[1]

As a youth, Dottavio played baseball for Grant High School in California.[2] Leo demonstrated an aptitude for baseball, and was recruited to play at California State University, Stanislaus. With passion for the sport and demonstrating athletic capability, he continued his athletic career, going on to playing semi-professionally with the Pasadena Redbirds.[3]

Acting & stuntwork

Dottavio began his career in Hollywood as a stuntman. He lent his athletic talents and interest in film to his work as a stuntman, performing stunts and smaller acting roles in shows such as SMILF, Love, 9-1-1, and others, including the action-oriented Universal Studios Hollywood show “WaterWorld.”[4] Leo also became known for playing Jimmie on the web series “Fight of the Living Dead” and has been featured on popular television shows like “American Horror Story,” “Black Jesus,” and “You’re the Worst.”[5] He has also had been in several regional and national commercials, including commercials for Harrah's Casinos and Bud Light.

Sexual Assault Allegations

Dottavio was accused of sexual assault by a group of individuals who "private messaged" Bachelorette co-star Bekah Martinez on Instagram. Claims included various comments left on social media posts such as Dottavio allegedly commenting "You need my big dick" on another woman's Instagram posts. Another claim made against Dottabio involves claims that he allegedly sent unsolicited pictures of his genitals, and sent these pictures to various people.[6]Dottavio has dismissed these allegations, claiming that the direct messages between him and the accuser(s) as well as the comments were doctored. In a seperate incident, Dottavio was reported to the Universal Studio's HR department due to claims of flirtatious comments and "excessive hugging" that made others on set uncomfortable. Following investigation, it was announced that Dottavio would no longer work as a stuntman for Universal Studios.[7][8]

Reality television

Dottavio's reality television debut was in Season 14 of The Bachelorette, where he competed for the affection of Becca Kufrin. He was eliminated in Week 7. He then appeared in Bachelor in Paradise the same year. He was "forcefully removed" in week 3 after a violent interaction with another contestant. [9][10]

Philanthropy

Dottavio has worked with multiple philanthropic organizations, including raising money for cystic fibrosis through Colton Underwood's "Legacy Foundation," the MS Society (multiple sclerosis), and "Cycle for Survival," which fundraises for cancer research and education.[11]


YouTube career

Leo is a recurring guest on the popular YouTube channel "Danny Mullen." With whom he also hosts a YouTube-based podcast titled "The Leo and Danny show." [12][13][14]
