Leart Paqarada

Leart Shukri Paqarada (born 8 October 1994) is a professional footballer who plays as a left-back for St. Pauli and the Kosovo national team. He previously played for Albania national under-21 football team and Germany U17 team.

Early life

Born in Bremen, Germany, Paqarada is the son of Shukri Paqarada, a former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper for Prishtina. His family is originally from Pačarađa, Serbia.[1]

Club career

Paqarada started his career with SV Werder Bremen youths in 1998 until 2003, then he joined Bayer 04 Leverkusen where he played in all youth teams of the club until 2013, and was promoted in second team: Bayer 04 Leverkusen II. In 2014, he was transferred in SV Sandhausen. He made his 2. Bundesliga debut on 10 August 2014 against 1. FC Kaiserslautern. He played the full game in a 1–1 draw.[2]

St. Pauli

In August 2020, Paqarada joined 2. Bundesliga rivals FC St. Pauli on a free transfer.[3]

International career

Germany

Under-16

On 16 August 2009, Paqarada made his debut with Germany U16 in a friendly match against Austria U16 after being named in the starting line-up.[4]

Under-17

On 4 September 2010, Paqarada made his debut with Germany U17 in a friendly match against Azerbaijan U17 after being named in the starting line-up.[5]

Albania

Under-21

On 6 February 2013, Paqarada made his debut with Albania U21 in a friendly match against Macedonia U21 after being named in the starting line-up.

Kosovo

On 4 September 2014, Paqarada received a call-up from Kosovo for a friendly match against Oman[6] and made his debut after being named in the starting line-up and from that day, he is regularly playing for Kosovo.
