The title - a pun mixing the German noun Rauschgift ("narcotics") with the verb lauschen ("to listen, to eavesdrop") - was inspired by a scene in the film Breakfast at Tiffanys. The German language dub of the film, in which I. Y. Yunioshi mispronounces the word Rauschift was sampled on the album's first track.

gollark: Anyway, £9 a month is cheap by UK standards I think.
gollark: > Personally, I have a 0€/month SIM... how? Pay as you go, or something?
gollark: It was somewhat annoying to find, but I can feel smugly superior to my friends for getting 8GB a month at low cost.
gollark: Personally, I just buy cheap phones every 2ish years and have a cheap £9/month SIM-only plan.
gollark: Somewhat. I go to my mobile provider's website sometimes and it says "get [shiny apple product] for just £55 a month" and think "... do people not know how to multiply by 24?".
