History

The first written mention of the village comes from 1295. At that time, the village was owned by Jan of Kvítkov.[2] On 1 December 1991, the municipality was given the legal status as a town.[3]

Agriculture

Kvítkov has been known for its fertile soils and agricultural importance. However, the gardens around the village are often neglected and buildings replace them.[4]

Landmarks

Church of St. James the Elder

The Church of St. James the Elder is a baroque church located in the village. It was built in the 18th century. It has been believed that the architect and builder of the church was Václav Špaček.[5]

Kvítkov castle

A castle ruin name Kvítkov has been protected as a cultural monument since 1965. No written sources have been preserved about the castle. Few archaeological finds date back to the end of the fourteenth or early fifteenth century, when the village belonged to the Vlků family from Kvítkov.[6]

gollark: Personally, probably not, though partly because I'm just used to really low-resolution monitors.
gollark: Discord could and you maybe could because browsers also cache stuff locally, but in practice... probably not?
gollark: Yes, that's what I mean - if you see an image in Discord it's been fetched by their servers.
gollark: So what you can do is send the actual image if *Discord* asks, but send a redirect if a regular browser asks.
gollark: I think Discord actually caches images you see on its end, even ones linked from external sites, and the HTTP requests to it are distinguishable from normal browser ones..
