Kurów Wielki

Kurów Wielki (Polish pronunciation: [ˈkuruv ˈvjɛlkʲi]; German: Großkauer) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Gaworzyce, within Polkowice County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland.[1] Prior to 1945 it was in Germany. It lies approximately 15 kilometres (9 mi) east of Gaworzyce, 12 kilometres (7 mi) north of Polkowice, and 85 kilometres (53 mi) north-west of the regional capital Wrocław. It has a population of 50.

The oldest known mention of the village is from the 13th century. Among the notable monuments in Kurów Wielki are a Gothic parish church from the 14th century, and a tower in the same style. There are tombstones and epitaphs built into the church walls and the wall around the church and the cemetery. A presbytery from the late 18th century is located next to the church.
