History

Kopidlno has 4 outskirts - Kopidlno, Drahoraz, Mlýnec, Ledkov, Pševes. The word Kopidlno is probably derived from the name of medicinal plants found in the surrounding forests. The first owners of Kopidlno were the Lords of Kopidlno.

Sights

A castle from 16th century and the church of St. Jacob are two of the outstanding historical buildings.

Events

Czech Bluegrass, founded in 1972 in Kopidlno, is the first and longest-running Bluegrass festival in Europe.
