Knockavilla, County Cork

Knockavilla (Irish: Cnoc an Bhile) is a place in County Cork, Ireland, a few of kilometres from Crossbarry and Innishannon. The local Roman Catholic church is dedicated to St. Patrick. There is also a school, a pub, a graveyard, and a community hall (situated next to St. Patrick's church). Knockavilla Celtic is the local football club.

Location

Knockavilla is situated halfway between the Upton House Nursing home and an Chathairleach hillfort at the top of the hill. Knockavilla lies in the northern part of the Innishannon-Knockavilla parish. Knockavilla is part of the Innishannon parish.[1]

Education

Knockavilla is served by Scoil Mhaoilíosa and provides classes from junior infants to 6th class. The current school building was built in 1973 and prior to that the school was housed in the building which is now the Parish Hall.[2]

gollark: It doesn't get a massive amount of funding, though.
gollark: I don't really know enough about the current state of fusion and the relevant physics to say much about whether it's likely to be practical eventually, though.
gollark: Although preparation and fuel production and stuff ended up taking up waaaay more than you get out, IIRC net-positive if you just count energy input used to heat up the fuel or whatever was achieved a while ago.
