Khalkhal County
Khalkhal County (Persian: شهرستان خلخال)(Azerbaijan turkish: Xəlxal, is a county in Ardabil Province in Iran ( Azerbaijan ). The capital of the county is Khalkhal. Most of Khalkhalis have Azeribaijan Turk origin. At the 2006 census, the county's population was 92,315, in 22,969 families.[1] The county consists of three districts: the Central District, Khvor Rostam District, and Shahrud District. The county has three cities: Hashatjin, Kolowr, and Khalkhal. Majority of Khalkhal county are Azerbaijanis, but Tats are living in southern areas of county, especially in Shahrud District and Khvoresh Rostam District.
