Economy

Kerteh is the base of operations for Petronas in Terengganu, overseeing the oil platform operations off the state's coast as well as petrochemicals production and crude oil refining in nearby Paka.

Tourist attractions

The Ma'Daerah turtle sanctuary is also nearby.

Transportation

Kerteh is served by the Kerteh Airport, a small airport catering mostly to helicopter flights to offshore oil platforms and charter plane flights for Petronas staff to Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport near Kuala Lumpur.

gollark: We can't rename kilograms grams without confusing everyone who doesn't also adopt that, but I guess renaming them to "standard weight units" or some abbreviation would work.

gollark: They should have just made kilograms be called "grams" and we could say milligrams for smaller amounts.
