Kaunas International Film Festival

Kaunas International Film Festival (Lithuanian: Tarptautinis Kauno kino festivalis) is a film festival founded in 2007 and held in October each year in Kaunas and Vilnius, Lithuania. In 2011, films from the Festival's programme were also screened in Panevėžys and Nida, Lithuania. The festival is organised by a Lithuania-based public company "Visos mūzos", festival's director is Ilona Jurkonytė, producer of the programme is Tomas Tengmark.

Goals of the festival

The main goal of the Kaunas International Film Festival is to present films that have won wide international recognition and that reflect not only the latest global trends of film art, but also public issues in local and global contexts. The festival aims to enable undiscovered and unknown filmmakers to present their works to the audiences. The programme of the festival includes film screenings, debates, lectures and meetings with filmmakers.

The birth of the festival is closely related to the ambition to disseminate film culture and preserve "Romuva" – the oldest operational film theatre in Lithuania. Kaunas International Film Festival has the status of a representative event of Kaunas city.

gollark: Another thing I thought would be neat is some limited scripting support, or at least the ability to say "include the content of this page here" or "show all pages matching this query". But that would be very hard.
gollark: One thing I thought would be neat would be a visualization of the links between pages, but that would be hard.
gollark: I mean, "would" is inaccurate, the system already implements this, except tags.
gollark: Also, because I prefer this, pages would be indexed entirely by a canonical name and there would be no hierarchy, merely tags.
gollark: So far, all you can do is *view* pages, *edit* pages, and view *revisions* of pages.
