Kasaï District

Kasaï District is a former district located in the former Kasai-Occidental province, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It was bordered by Lulua District to the southeast, Kwango District to the southwest, Sankuru District, Tshuapa District, Kwilu District, Mai-Ndombe District, and the nation of Angola in the south.

In 2015 its status was elevated to Kasaï Province.

Administration

The capital of Kasaï district was the town of Luebo.[1] The city of Tshikapa lay within the district, but was independently administered. It is now the capital of Kasaï Province.
