Kaestlea
Kaestlea is a genus of skinks.[1] These skinks are small, shiny, smooth-scaled species. They are diurnal, terrestrial and insectivorous. They lay eggs to reproduce. These skinks are identified by their distinct blue tail colour. They live in tropical rainforest and montane forest habitats. These secretive skinks silently move through thick leaf-litter on forest floor. They are all endemic to the Western Ghats mountains [2] and in some parts of Eastern Ghats (Shevaroys) [3] of South India.

Species
The following 5 species, listed alphabetically by specific name, are recognized as being valid:[4]
- Kaestlea beddomii (Boulenger, 1887) - Beddome's ground skink
- Kaestlea bilineata (Gray, 1846) - two-lined ground skink
- Kaestlea laterimaculata (Boulenger, 1887)
- Kaestlea palnica (Boettger, 1892) - Palni Hills ground skink
- Kaestlea travancorica (Beddome, 1870) - Travancore ground skink
Nota bene: A binomial authority in parentheses indicates that the species was originally described in a genus other than Kaestlea.
gollark: My existing laptop, a several-year-outdated refurbished business one I put an SSD and extra RAM into, works nicely.
gollark: Probably, but I have no use for a really ancient laptop which could maybe run slightly less poorly.
gollark: It's unusable at this point because the thermal paste has never been replaced, it has the old 500GB HDD it shipped with, and it runs Windows 10.
gollark: I have an ancient laptop around with a Core 2 Duo and... 210M or something?
gollark: I actually have a GT 710 around, since I needed a card which could do basic video output but didn't care very much about any actual gaming.
