Professional career

Nakatani made his professional debut on 26 April 2015, scoring a first-round technical knockout (TKO) victory over Junichi Itoga at the Industrial Hall in Gifu, Japan.[4]

After compiling a record of 17–0 (12 KOs) he faced Naoki Mochizuki for the vacant Japanese flyweight title at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo. Nakatani captured the vacant title via ninth-round TKO. At the time of the stoppage Nakatani was ahead on all three judges' scorecards, with one judge scoring the bout 80–72 and the other two scoring it 79–73.[5][6]

He is scheduled to face Giemel Magramo for the vacant WBO flyweight title on 21 August 2020 at the Korakuen Hall. The bout was originally set for April but due to the COVID-19 pandemic was postponed and rescheduled twice.[7]
