History
Personal life
ET (Electrical technician) throughout Season 1 had been making obvious signs of attraction to the Navigator, Nikki Caetano, with her reciprocating them. They both desired to enter into a relationship however because of the navy's non-fraternization rules, as they are posted on the same boat they need were unable to. Despite the rules, they decided to start one and keep their relationship a secret. At the end of ther first series, they decided that with the decommissioning of the ship, one of them should transfer to another posting to enable them to start a relationship, and despite it meaning losing his male friends, ET chose to be the one. However Nav insisted that their relationship be kept a secret as she was not ready to go public with the matter.
At the start of the second series, the newly commissioned HMAS Hammersley was in need of support with electronics, and so Commander Marshall offered ET the posting. ET was in trouble: because Nav insisted their relationship be a secret, he wasn't able to justify declining a posting in his desired port without raising suspicion (as Cmdr Marshall would have suspected he was in a relationship), and so because he couldn't refuse the offer he reluctantly was posted back to Hammersley much to Navs anger, who refused to engage him in any way for the early part of the series. It was only after ET saved her life that she realised how much she needed him at that moment, and she began to make up.
In the second series, he doesn't know that the XO knows about Nikki and their secret love affair, and he is determained to continue the relationship with the Navigator. As of the first episode of the third season of Sea Patrol, he died during a diving expedition outside of the navy. This was later to be found to have been murder, as Campbell Fulton altered the oxygen supply on the dive equipment and killed all eight divers.
Before his death, ET proposed to his co-worker, Nikki Caetano, and she said yes. He also revealed to her that he was planning to leave the Navy to be with her
