Career highlights and awards

LSU

He was a prominent end for the LSU Tigers of Louisiana State University from 1907 to 1909, elected to the LSU Hall of Fame in 1937. Seip was also selected for LSU's All-Time football team in 1935.[1] Seip was one of many players on LSU teams of this era from Pennsylvania, including Doc Fenton and Mike Lally.[2] He was nominated though not selected for an Associated Press All-Time Southeast 1869-1919 era team.[3]

1907

Seip ran back a 67-yard punt return in LSU's first ever bowl game, as well as the first football game played by an American team outside of the United States, the 1907 Bacardi Bowl.[4] LSU beat the University of Havana 56 to 0.

1908

Seip was a member of the 1908 LSU Tigers football team which went 100 and was selected as national champion by the National Championship Foundation.

1909

He was selected All-Southern in 1909.[5]

1910

1910 was a disastrous year for the Tigers. After the 1908 campaign, and a strong 1909 campaign which saw their only SIAA loss come to SIAA champion Sewanee, the team lost some star power. Stovall, end, Mike Lally, halfback, and Seip would all be lost for the year.[6] Seip was ruled ineligible the week before the Sewanee game.[6]

gollark: This is presumably not the same as actually being drunk.
gollark: I'm immune to peer pressure up to about 712GPa.
gollark: This is NOT true. I have not in any way been sponsored by pizza companies. There have been no advertising agreements whatsoever with any companies producing pizza or otherwise to have me subliminally advertise pizza, as my profile picture is not a pizza. Since it is not a pizza, this is obviously not pizza advertisement whatsoever. No monetary exchanges or otherwise have occurred with companies engaged in pizza production for any reason relating to my profile picture. You are clearly engaged in libel and attempting to discredit my non-pizza-advertising status. It is IN NO WAY subliminal pizza advertising because I DO NOT work for pizza companies in any form. It's not pizza. There were no deals, under-the-table or otherwise, with pizza companies. No pizza companies pay for any kind of subliminal advertising involving me. People make that mistake, but I am not working for pizza companies doing subliminal advertising; that is not in any way what I am doing. I am NOT being sponsored by ANY pizza companies to display subliminal pizza advertising OF ANY KIND.
gollark: This makes sense, as alcohol is typically airborne, yes.
gollark: Wow, BEE Discord.
