On August 12, 2018, Brooksby defeated Brandon Nakashima 6–4, 6–3, 6–1 to win the USTA Boys' under-18 national championship.[2] This victory earned him a wild card into the main draw of the 2018 US Open.[3]
Brooksby is currently playing collegiate tennis at Baylor University.[4]
On August 23, 2019, Jenson Brooksby qualified for the main draw of the 2019 US Open, where he went on to defeat 2010 Wimbledon finalist Tomáš Berdych in 4 sets in the first round; 6–1, 2–6, 6–4, 6–4.[5]. However in the second round Brooksby went down in a hard fought four set match to the seventeenth seed Nikoloz Basilashvili of Georgia; 3–6, 7–6(3), 7–5, 6–2.[6]
