In 2016, Berwick acquired Dominican Republic citizenship.[4]

Career

In 2009, he founded The Dollar Vigilante, an anarcho-capitalist blog focusing on gold, silver, mining stocks, Bitcoin and offshore banking.[5]

Berwick is host of Anarchast, an interview-style anarcho-capitalist podcast founded in 2012.[6]

In 2013, Berwick announced his plans to co-found the world's first bitcoin automated teller machine (ATM) in Cyprus.[7][8][9] Business Insider called the plans "bogus" and "almost certainly nonsense."[7] Berwick responded that the plans were legitimate.[10]

In 2013, Berwick promoted Galt's Gulch Chile project,[11] a libertarian enclave in the Curacaví region of Chile that did not come to fruition as envisioned.[12] He was also part of an attempt to start a free-trade zone in Honduras.[1]

In 2015, Berwick started Anarchapulco, an annual anarcho-capitalist conference held in Acapulco, Mexico.[13]

Personal life

In July 2005, Berwick's catamaran, caught in a 50 knot squall, was driven into the rocks and sank. Berwick and his partner survived by holding onto a broken surfboard.[14]

gollark: No, 1st gen is 14nm and 2nd gen is 12nm.
gollark: The chipsets are still not 7nm, right? As well as the 1st/2nd gen ones they still seem to sell (they're available very cheaply, at least) and some mobile CPUs.
gollark: They used (still use, I think?) Global Foundries for 12nm/14nm parts.
gollark: Intel, I mean.
gollark: It's been claimed that they were too aggressive, that they tried to do stuff without waiting for EUV technology to come along, that they just went down the wrong development paths, and probably a lot of otherr things.
