Japanese Sword Museum

The Japanese Sword Museum or Tōken hakubutsukan (刀剣博物館) situated in Tokyo, is a small museum dedicated to the art of Japanese swordmaking. The museum is run by the Society for the Preservation of Japanese Art Swords.[1] It used to locate in Shibuya from 1978 to 2017. The new museum opened in Sumida, Tokyo in 2018.

The museum has a collection of more than 150 items, including swords (mainly katana), tosogu (mountings), yoroi (armor) as well as documents of metal working.[2]
