Jan van Zanen
Jan Hendrikus Cornelis van Zanen (born 4 September 1961) is a Dutch politician of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD) and jurist who is serving as the Mayor of The Hague since 1 July 2020.[1]

Career
Born in Purmerend, Van Zanen studied at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and Cornell Law School. On 1 January 2014, he was appointed Mayor of the municipality UtrechtVan Zanen appointed as Mayor of Utrecht. Furthermore, van Zanen is currently the president of the Association of Netherlands Municipalities Van Zanen appointed president of VNG Before his appointment in Utrecht, he was Mayor of Amstelveen from 2005 until 2013; he became Chair of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy on 28 November 2003, an office he retained until 23 May 2008.[2] On 1 January 2014, he became Mayor of Utrecht.
