Jafar us Sadiq Imaduddin

Shahzada Ja'far us Sadiq Imaduddin (Arabic: جـعفـرُ ٱلصَّـادِق عِمـادُ ٱلدِّيـن) or Jafar us Sadiq Mufaddal Saifuddin, is the eldest son of Mufaddal Saifuddin,[1][2] the current incumbent of the office of the 53rd Dawoodi Bohra Da'i al-Mutlaq,[3] and the grandson of Mohammed Burhanuddin. He is a poet, scholar and one of the four rectors of Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah.

Career

Imaduddin lectures at Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah and Dawoodi Bohra community centers.

He is a Senior Fellow at the Royal Aal al-Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought[9][10] and is also a signatory of the Amman Message, which is a declaration calling for tolerance and unity in the Muslim world that was issued on 9 November 2004 (27th of Ramadan 1425 Hijri) by Abdullah II of Jordan.[11]

He was appointed as a rector of Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah (Arabic: امير الجامعة) on 27 Rajab 1436H corresponding to 15 May 2015 by Mufaddal Saifuddin.[12][13][14]

Personal life

Dr. Imaduddin was born on 21 September 1973 corresponding to 24 Sha'ban 1393H. Imaduddin is married to Dr. Zaenab (née Nuruddin),[15] daughter of Shabbir Nuruddin bin Taher Saifuddin.[16] The marriage was solemnized in 1996.

Recognition and awards

  •  India: On 15 May 2015 (Yawm al Mab'as, 27 Rajab 1436 ھ) at a public gathering in Surat:[12][13][14]
  • He was given the cognomen (laqab) Imaduddin (Arabic: عماد الدين, lit. 'Pillar of Faith') by Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin.
  • Syedna then selected his own teknonym (kunya) as Abu Jafar al-Sadiq (Arabic: ابو جعفر الصادق مفضل سيف الدين).
  • Following that Ja'far us Sadiq was appointed one of the four rectors of Al Jamea tus Saifiyah.
  •  India: On 3 May 2016 (Yawm al Mab'as, 27 Rajab 1437 ھ) at a public gathering in Surat, he was conferred two of the highest degrees of Aljamea tus Saifiyah:[17]
  • Thiqah al-Da'wah al-Taiybiyyah (Arabic: ثقة الدعوة الطيبية, lit. 'The trusted of the Taiyebi Da'wah').
  • al-'Aleem al-Baare (Arabic: العليم البارع, lit. 'The Outstandingly Learned').

Works

  • A literary analysis of the Qasida (Arabic: شب الغرام لهيب خد احمر) by Miya Saheb Wali bhai (Arabic: ميا صاحب ولي بهائي). This work was completed in 1418 Hijri and is titled (Arabic: شفاء الاوام في قصيدة شب الغرام ).[18]
  • During the restoration of Fatimid mosques in Cairo by Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin, he compiled separate works, in Arabic, on the architectural features of each of the mosques. These works studied Al-Jami' al-Anwar, Al-Jami' al-Aqmar, Al-Jami' al-Juyushi, Al-Jami' al-Lulua and Fatimid gates and fortifications of Cairo.[19]
