JLab Audio

JLab Audio is an American consumer audio brand founded in 2005.[1] The company began by making value priced in-ear headphones, but has since expanded to include premium in-ear and over-ear headphones, as well as wireless headphones and Bluetooth speakers.[2] Steadily growing, JLab has made the INC 5000 list four times since 2010.[3]

After growing more than 250 percent from 2015 to 2017, JLab moved into a new facility in Carlsbad to support its growth.[4] Furthering its growth, JLab became the official audio partner of Major League Soccer in 2017 in order to reach both players and fans of the league. “Music is a part of every culture across the world, and MLS is the most diverse league in America with players from more than 70 countries,” said Carter Ladd, vice president of business development for MLS and its commercial arm, Soccer United Marketing. “This partnership is an opportunity for us to bring those cultural passions together.”[5]

Leadership

CEO Win Cramer took the reins in 2011 and in 2019 was awarded Entrepreneur of the Year. “EY is proud to honor the 2019 Entrepreneur Of The Year San Diego winners who are inspiring innovation, transforming our world and fueling growth in San Diego and beyond,” he added. The group of entrepreneurial leaders was selected by an independent judging panel made up of previous award winners, leading CEOs, investors and other regional business leaders.[6]

History

JLab was founded by Josh ‘Eros’ Rosenfield in 2005 in Tucson, Arizona, where they operated until 2012 when they relocated to Oceanside, California.[7] This occurred after the company was purchased in January by a Dallas, TX-based private equity group and leadership transitioned to current CEO, Win Cramer. JLab has now relocated to Carlsbad CA, with offices in Dallas, TX and China. Since then, JLab has moved away from its value roots and begun re-branding itself as an affordable premium audio retailer with an "athleisure-focused" brand image.
