Isaac Shadd

Isaac D. Shadd (1829 - 1886) was a newspaper publisher and politician. He served as the Speaker of the House in the Mississippi House of Representatives during the Reconstruction era. He served in the Mississippi legislature from 1871 until 1874.[1]

Shadd was born in Delaware.[2]

Mary Ann Shadd Cary was his sister.[1] They sought opportunity in Canada before returning to the U.S.[3]
