International League Rookie of the Year Award

The International League Rookie of the Year Award is an annual award given to the best rookie player in Minor League Baseball's International League (IL). In 1950, Randy Jackson of the Springfield Cubs won the first International League Rookie of the Year Award.

Randy Jackson won the first IL Rookie of the Year Award in 1950.
Jim Rice, the 1974 winner, went on to win the 1978 American League MVP Award and was inducted in the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2009.[1]
Cal Ripken, Jr., the 1981 winner, won the 1982 American League Rookie of the Year Award and was inducted in the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2007.[2]
Chipper Jones, the 1993 winner, went on to win the 1999 National League MVP Award and was inducted in the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2018.[3]
Joey Votto, the 2007 IL Rookie of the Year, won the National League MVP Award in 2010.[4]
