The journal is abstracted and indexed in MEDLINE, Science Citation Index, Current Contents, EMBASE, and Scopus. According to the Journal Citation Reports, the journal had a 2014 impact factor of 4.0.[1] The impact factor decreased to 3.471 in 2018.

gollark: I think I'm "working on" a search thing vaguely similar to Recoll but ideally faster, personal wiki software, 4D tic-tac-toe (without multiversal time travel), and inevitably other stuff I forgot.
