Hushabye
"Hushabye" is a song that was written by Doc Pomus and Mort Shuman in 1959 for the doo-wop vocal group the Mystics.[1] It is based on the lullaby "All the Pretty Horses". It spent sixteen weeks on Billboard Hot 100 (nine of those in the top 40), reaching #20 at its peak.[2] Personnel on the original recording included Al Caiola and Bucky Pizzarelli on guitars and Panama Francis on drums. Disc jockey Alan Freed featured "Hushabye" as the closing tune on his televised Saturday night "Big Beat Show".[3]
