History

The church was originally constructed in the 1100s. Research on the building has shown that the choir part is the oldest part of the existing building. Over the years, the church was expanded and renovated. In 1879, the church was enlarged and the west tower was added. In the 1960s, the church was thoroughly renovated by the architect John Egil Tverdahl.[3][4]
