Hejnice (Liberec District)

Hejnice (Czech pronunciation: [ˈɦɛjɲɪtsɛ]; German: Haindorf) is a small town in the Liberec District in Liberec Region of the Czech Republic. From 1938 to 1945 it was one of the municipalities in Sudetenland. It is located in the valley of the river Smědá under the northern slopes of the Jizera Mountains, at an altitude of 350–1,124 m (1,148–3,688 ft) above sea level. It has about 2,700 inhabitants.
