Hawksburn railway station

Hawksburn railway station is located on the Pakenham, Cranbourne and Frankston lines, in Victoria, Australia. It opened on 7 May 1879,[10] and serves the south-eastern Melbourne suburb of South Yarra.

The station is named after the Hawksburn Estate in which it was built.[11][12] The current station buildings were completed in 1914, as part of the duplication and grade separation of the railway between South Yarra and Caulfield.[13][5]

Platforms & services

Hawksburn has four platforms. It is served by Metro Trains' Pakenham,[14] Frankston,[15] and Cranbourne,[16] although only Frankston line trains usually call at this station while Pakenham and Cranbourne line trains do not stop and run express through platforms 3 and 4.

It is planned to connect the Pakenham and Cranbourne lines to the Sunbury line through the new Metro Tunnel in late 2025, with Hawksburn to be the site of an Eastern Turnback for operational flexibility.
