Harry Collett

Harry Collett (born 17 January 2004)[1][2] is a British actor. Collett's career began in 2014 when he starred in the music video for Michael Bublé and Idina Menzel's cover of "Baby, It's Cold Outside". He secured voice roles for children's television series and had guest roles in American and British television series, including appearing as Oliver Hide in the medical drama Casualty, a role which he asked to reprise for two longer stints in 2017 and 2019, respectively. Collett then featured in films Ethel & Ernest, Dead in a Week or Your Money Back and Dunkirk, before being cast opposite Robert Downey Jr. in the 2020 film Dolittle as Tommy Stubbins. Collett has also experienced a career in theatre.

Career

Collett began his career appearing as a younger version of singer Michael Bublé in the music video for Bublé and Idina Menzel's cover of "Baby, It's Cold Outside".[3] He appeared in a 2014 episode of BBC medical drama Casualty as Seb Durante.[4] He then provided the voice to lead character Wally in children's television series Wallykazam! across the first two series.[5] The following year, Collett appeared in a series one episode of American musical fantasy comedy television series Galavant as the younger version of the titular character,[5] followed by a role in children's television series The Hive as Buzzbee.[6] In 2016, Collett was cast in another guest role on Casualty as Oliver Hide, the son of established character David Hide (Jason Durr). As part of the appearance, Collett filmed a stunt featuring his character trapped in a car engulfed in flames.[7] He reprised the role in 2017 for three episodes,[8] and again in 2019 for a longer stint.[9] Collett's co-star Durr praised the actor, calling him "absolutely fantastic" and opining, "He's got a great career ahead of him".[10]

Collett made his film debut as the younger version of Raymond Briggs in Ethel & Ernest, a biographical film released in 2016.[6] During 2017, Collett appeared in the short film Honour as 11-year-old boy Lee,[11] and made a cameo appearance in the 2017 war film Dunkirk, directed by Christopher Nolan.[12] The following year, he appeared in Dead in a Week or Your Money Back as a younger version of the character William.[5] In December 2017, Collett's casting in the adventure comedy film Dolittle was announced.[12] Released in January 2020, the film features the actor starring as Tommy Stubbins, the self-appointed apprentice of Dr. Dolittle (Robert Downey Jr.).[12]

Collett has also had a stage career, appearing in productions of Billy Elliot the Musical, Matilda the Musical,[5] and Elf, The Musical.[13]
