Guitar Praise: Stryper

Guitar Praise: Stryper is an expansion pack developed for the Christian rhythm video game Guitar Praise for computers with Mac OS X or Microsoft Windows. Published by Digital Praise, the expansion pack features twenty-five Stryper tracks from three of their albums: eleven from 7 Weeks: Live in America, 2003, nine from Murder by Pride, and five from Reborn. This expansion pack was released to commemorate the twenty-fifth anniversary of Stryper. Gameplay is similar to that of competitors Guitar Hero and Rock Band games, although it is only compatible with one or two Guitar Praise USB guitar controllers. The original Guitar Praise game is required for this expansion pack.

Development

Digital Praise announced on March 10, 2010 that it has formed a partnership with Stryper to create an expansion pack for Guitar Praise themed after the band. Tom Bean, then-president and CEO of Digital Praise, said that "This is our first opportunity to license music directly from a top Christian artist […] It is unbelievable to be working with […] the first openly Christian heavy metal band […this] is another first for Stryper."[2]
