History

The stadium was built in the early 1960 with assistance of American labor union leader George Meany, after whom the stadium was named when it was opened in 1965.[1] In 2004 the stadium was renovated with a donations money from the Green family and was renamed Green Stadium.

Since May 2019 the stadium has been under renovations which was set to upgrade the stadium to Israeli Premier League standards.[2]
