History

They formed in 1997 under the name Gorgasm. They released their debut album Neurotripsicks on Deadsun Records in 2004. They changed their name to Gorod in 2005 to avoid confusion with an American death metal band also called Gorgasm, after which they re-released their debut album on Willowtip Records in 2005.

Since the name change, Gorod have released six full-length studio albums, most recently Aethra, released October 2018. Gorod have enjoyed increasing popularity since their inception, taking part in the Maryland Deathfest in the United States.
