God Is Abundant

God Is Abundant is the twenty second studio album by American country music artist, Connie Smith. The album was released in November 1973 on Columbia Records and was produced by George Richey. It was Smith's first album of Gospel music for the Columbia. It was her fourth Gospel album overall and her third gospel album as a solo artist.

Background and release

God Is Abundant consisted of eleven new tracks record by Connie Smith. The album was recorded in 1973 at the Columbia Recording Studio in Nashville, Tennessee. At Columbia, Smith was permitted to record more Gospel material, therefore, God Is Abundant was released in 1973.[1] It contained cover versions of Dottie Rambo's "Remind Me Dear Lord," Porter Wagoner's "When I Sing for Him," Dolly Parton's "Golden Streets of Glory," and Kris Kristofferson's "Why Me." The album was released on a 12-inch LP album, with six songs on the record's first side and five on the record's second side.[2] No singles were released from the album.

God Is Abundant also charted, reaching #20 on the Billboard Magazine Top Country Albums chart, becoming Smith's final album to chart in the Top 20.[3]
