GenZe (company)

Mahindra GenZe, doing business as GenZe and also known as GenZe by Mahindra, is a brand of electric bicycles and scooters. It is a subsidiary of the Mahindra Group of India.

History

In 2013, GenZe introduced their first electric bicycle and electric scooter.[1] The name GenZe is short for Generation Zero Emissions, which is a reference to their products being zero-emissions vehicles.[2][3]

Operations

GenZe operates as a subsidiary of the Mahindra Group.[4][5] Its headquarters are located in Fremont, California.[5][6] GenZe's products are manufactured, hand-assembled, and road-tested in Ann Arbor, Michigan.[5][7][8][9]

GenZe designs and manufactures electric bicycles and electric scooters intended for consumers and corporate fleets.[2][4][10]

Electric bicycles

Their electric bicycles are available through the Ford GoBike public bicycle sharing system,[6] and the Bike Solar Oakland program in Oakland, California.[11]

Electric scooters

The GenZe electric scooters were introduced in 2015,[12] and were delivered to consumers in December 2015.[13] They are utilized by Postmates delivery service.[1][9] They are also available through the Scoot Networks public scooter sharing system,[1] which the Mahindra Group's private-equity business has invested in.[14][15]
