GameClub

GameClub, is a video game subscription service for iOS and Android devices.[1] The service primarily focuses on reviving games that have been delisted from app stores and are no longer actively maintained by their original developers.[2] It was first revealed on March 5 2019, entering an early access program on March 12, 2019[3][4] and officially launching on October 25, 2019.[5] The Android version of GameClub launched on June 19, 2020.

Features

GameClub offers extra features and enchancements to the older titles it brings back onto the App Store, including:

  • Optimized graphics and support for newer screen sizes. [6]
  • No ads or in-app purchases.
  • Editorial content including game hints and development history for certain games.
  • Added support for MFi controllers, DualShock 4 and Xbox One controllers on select titles.[7]
  • Family sharing for up to 12 people on one subscription. [8]

Games

Each game released as part of GameClub has a 'trial' portion of content available for free without subscribing. New games debut on the service weekly.[9] Any games that were previously purchased before releasing under GameClub can be accessed in full without a subscription.

With the launch of the service on Android, GameClub announced that games with online multiplayer components would support cross-play between iOS and Android devices starting with title Neon Shadow.[10]
