Footsteps (Ri Jong-o song)

"Footsteps" (Korean: 발걸음) is a Kim Jong-un theme song that appeared before "Onwards Toward the Final Victory". The tune was released in 2009[2] and aired while his father (Kim Jong-il) was alive, before Kim Jong-un had a formal position.[3]

The song is calling to follow "Our General Kim's footsteps".[4] The song begins:[1]

Tramp tramp tramp
the footsteps of our General Kim
spreading the spirit of February
tramp tramp tramping onwards

According to Yonhap, "General Kim" appears to be a reference to Kim Jong-un and February is a birth month of his father.[1] Additional song lyrics:[4]

Footsteps, Footsteps
spreading out further the sound of a brilliant future ahead
tramp, tramp, tramp, ah, footsteps

gollark: Still, Anrak's 2103rd for rudeness, and it's steadily trending up...
gollark: Top 500 seems basically impossible, since there are a lot of nations and all.
gollark: Also sports are banned for some reason? I don't know why I picked that.
gollark: Notelia has somehow ended up with capitalism but basically no employment and extremely high tax.
gollark: I think Notelia tried that for a bit but it went horribly wrong somehow.
