Florin Cîțu

Florin-Vasile Cîțu (born 1 April, 1972) is a Romanian senator elected in 2016. On 4 November 2019, he became Minister of Public Finance in the Orban Cabinet.

On 26 February 2020, following the motion of no confidence against the Orban Cabinet of 5 February, President Klaus Iohannis designated Cîțu Prime Minister of Romania and asked him to form a new government.[1][2]

After graduating from Grinnell College in 1996,[3] he obtained a master's degree in economics and a doctoral degree in macroeconomics and international economics from Iowa State University in 2001.[4]
