Federal Party (Rhodesia and Nyasaland)
The Federal Party was a party in the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland.
History
The Federal Party was formed on 7 August 1953 by the leaders of the ruling parties in the three territories in order to contest the federal elections in December.[1] The elections saw the new party win 24 of the 35 seats. In the general elections in Northern Rhodesia the following year, it won ten of the twelve elected seats.[2]
In November 1957 the Federal Party merged with the United Rhodesia Party to form the United Federal Party.
gollark: I think it's more likely to end up remaining very niche.
gollark: I don't need anything else out of a phone, and am tired of the inability to even change DNS servers on Android, so it seems pretty cool.
gollark: It's a shame it doesn't have a physical keyboard, but for "relatively open thing which can browse the interweb and send SMS/make calls" it does seem pretty good.
gollark: Cool, a pinephone channel.
gollark: Furnaces 0 to 1, smelt clay to bricks.
