Attack

On 23 February 2018, two suicide car bombs exploded in the Somali capital of Mogadishu.[4] The first car bomb went off after militants breached a checkpoint near the president's residence by shooting at security personnel. The other detonated in front of a hotel away from the palace.[5] 45 bystanders were killed and 36 others injured.[6] Five attackers were also reported dead.[7]

Responsibility

The Somalia-based Islamist group Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack via its Andalus radio arm, stating that both its drivers were suicide bombers.[3]

gollark: I could, at least, do stuff like install spatial IO "teleporters", and install spatial IO systems in random corridors.
gollark: Unfortunately, we don't have [REDACTED], so I can't really do non-euclidean spaces without (very obvious) spatial IO hacks.
gollark: Why would I just rebuild that? It would be cooler to make a giant sprawling messy complex.
gollark: Also suspiciously easy door locks.
gollark: That gives me an idea - I should make some sort of giant potatOS research complex on CN and pack it with random dangerous machinery, valuable loot, and warning signs.
